Precise airflow control is a key indicator that helps determine HVAC efficiency. That is where volume control damper AVCD regulators perform air balancing, reducing air leakage and maintaining stable air distribution across zones by precisely adjusting the supply volume. Perfectly poised in this segment, Beta Industrial manufactures and supplies its robust AVCD series with AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for air leakage and air performance. This series is accompanied by a detailed and downloadable ordering key. Alternatively, our team of experts can help you find the right equipment as per your unique requirements.
Volume control dampers AVCD regulators work as an accurate flow control in duct sections of air distribution systems. By rotating the aerofoil blades, air balancing is performed, air leakage is reduced and uniform flow is maintained across the zones without unnecessary losses. The motion configurations of the opposed blades and parallel blades are selected according to the channel scheme, and the drive options, which are manual quadrant or motorized, allow you to link the device to the desired control method.
The body is made of galvanized steel 1.2 mm, and the blades have an airfoil profile made of double skin extruded aluminum or GI sheet for shape stability. The axes are shaped like a ½" square galvanized steel rod, and the galvanized steel linkage is placed concealed in the frame to reduce drag and ease of service.
Self lubricating plastic nylon bushes or brass bushes are used in the support nodes, and S.S. bushes and S.S. bearings are available on request. This arrangement maintains a smooth stroke of the blades and maintains control accuracy under typical channel loads.
The basic control is implemented via a plated steel quadrant with a wing nut and position indicators for fixing the setting. Motorized VCD with electric actuator is available for automation, and in the order you can specify the movement of opposite blades or parallel blades.
The series provides hat-shaped frame, flanged to duct, slip & clip with duct and box type (inserted inside duct) attachment options. This simplifies embedding into existing routes and keeps the joints tight without changing the design scheme.
One section supports a minimum of 100×100 mm for flanged/box/slip & clip and 100×150 mm for hat-shaped. The maximum dimensions reach 1200×1200 mm for hat-shaped/flanged and 1000×1000 mm for slip & clip/box, which covers common channel formats.
The performance data contains pressure drop tables in the face velocity function for standard sizes 12"×12", 12"×24", 24"×12", 24"×24", as well as air leakage data. The series is marked with AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for air leakage and air performance with tests according to AMCA Publication 511 and ANSI/AMCA 500-D-18.
The configuration is set via the ordering key: blades AU (aerofoil aluminum) or AG (aerofoil steel), body thicknesses G1–G4 (GI) and S1–S4 (S.S. 304). P/B/X/S are available for supports, for L (steel linkage) or G (plastic gears) mechanism, for H/F/S/B frames, and the drive can be M (motorized) or quadrant driven.
The AVCD series manufactured by Beta Industrial is licensed to use the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal, accompanied by visual performance data and a structured ordering key for materials, supports, mechanisms and connection methods (aluminum, GI, stainless steel 304; plastic nylon bushes, brass bushes, S.S. bearings; steel linkage, plastic gears; hat-shaped, flanged, slip & clip, box type). Manual quadrant and motorized versions are available, as well as opposed and parallel movements, which simplifies the selection to meet the requirements of the project without deviating from the specification. We at Beta Industrial strive to meet and exceed all customer needs.
AVCD blades come as aerofoil aluminum or steel, and you can connect the damper using hat-shaped, flanged, slip & clip, or box-type frames to suit the duct interface.
You can select manual quadrant or electric actuator models; most models can be specified with opposed or parallel blade movement to match the control method and layout.
Minimum sizes start at 100×100 mm (flanged/box/slip & clip) and 100×150 mm (hat-shaped); maximum sizes reach 1200×1200 mm (hat-shaped/flanged) and 1000×1000 mm (slip & clip/box).
The AVCD series bears the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for air leakage and air performance, with tests per AMCA Publication 511 and ANSI/AMCA 500-D-18; performance data includes pressure-drop and leakage references.
